Important Family Bonding at Utah Craft Fairs
The family is the community’s most basic and important unit. As such, we teach the importance of keeping the family intact through engaging in activities that every member will enjoy. When the family neglects to do activities together, they are more likely to break apart. It falls upon you, as a parent, to keep involving your kids in enjoyable activities that are shared with you.
There are a lot of fun pursuits that your family may be interested in. It may be as simple as buying a small pet that your kids can take care of. But, if you opt for this, you should make sure your kids are responsible enough for a pet, as you may end up doing all the work yourself. Let them take charge of the small animal, and it’s a good idea to take outdoor trips with it so you can spend some bonding time.
Alternatively, I have discovered that I can do arts and crafts together with my kids. There are a lot of crafts that we can choose from: From an early age, I noticed that my son was interested in small fantasy miniatures. I encouraged him by buying how-to books on the crafts and even buying the materials needed. It was a lot of fun, I can tell you.
The biggest challenge that my family faced is the actual creation of the miniatures. We started around by buying small parts that can be joined together, and then the kids proceeded to paint the objects. But soon, I began making miniature sculptures out of wood or clay (with clay eventually becoming my preference), so I feel like I am able to contribute to the crafting effort as well.
Now, I am proud to say my two sons are experts in regard to painting the small figures. Take a close look and you’ll see the minute details in the facial expressions. And I’m not one to brag, but I am quite skilled at sculpting and putting finishing touches on them. I think we’ll all be able to show off our stuff with confidence at one of Utah’s craft fairs.
