Celebrate Your Kid’s Birthday With Star Wars Birthday Supplies
Blast off to the Star Wars universe where the Clone Wars are about to heat up. But before you go, stock up on some Star Wars birthday party supplies because the celebration your about to launch will attract an entire planet.
That’s easy if you select a Star Wars Clone Wars Deluxe Pack. With 8 Star Wars invitations, you can send a summons to all the freedom fighters in the galaxy. Once they flock to your planet, greet them with Obi-Wan or Yoda Mylar balloons. But be ready for anything because you never know when an Imperial spy might have sneaked in along with them.
Once everyone sits down beneath the dozens of other balloons, they can rest their weary traveler’s arms on a genuine Star Wars tablecover. All the Star Wars plates, cups, and napkins have been laid out. The Star Wars Cake Topper is in place and the Jango Fett Stand-Up keeps watch to make sure no one gets too rowdy.
For extra Star Wars party stuff to feed that army, select the Feel the Force Add-On Pack. It provides extra cups, plates, and everything else you need. If you have any trouble getting your rowdy warriors to settle down you can don your Darth Vader Adult Costume. With your Blue Jedi Light Saber at the ready you are prepared to tackle anything.
To reward all the good behavior, hand out some spectacular Star Wars Favor Boxes. There’s a Darth Vader mask for everyone who needs to sneak into the Imperial Palace in disguise. There’s a disc-launcher and a miniature light saber in case they run into some Storm Troopers. They can mark the trail for those who follow behind with the sticker sheet featuring many of the terrific villains from the films.
Now it’s time for the Darth Vader Pinata! At 11″ high, in the shape of Vader’s helmut, it will hold a ton of things. But will they be from the villainous Vader or the Anakin Skywalker Vader? Pull the string and find out. Then watch all the Clone Wars toys and candy fall through space.
Maybe some of those goodies are Star Wars tattoos. Featuring images of Yoda and other heroes from the series, they’re easily washable so you won’t need a carbon bath to scour them off. Let each little warrior choose his or her own and assemble the troops for the next mission.
Let your birthday boy or girl lead the mission in an Anakin Skywalker costume. With light saber at the ready, there’s only time for a few instructions and a short inspiring speech. Then it’s off to fight the Emperor. Or, to open some presents.
3 secrets of extracurriculars to get into Stanford
Extracurricular accomplishments are difficult to score properly, since they’re so diverse and varied by school.
There are obvious organizations and competitions – for instance, Key Club and Science Olympiad.
For everything else, it comes down to a qualitative judgment. That’s why you need to do everything you can to be the best, regardless of what activity you’re involved with.
Having worked in College Admissions for 3 years (as well as being a former Ivy Leaguer), I’ve developed several rules on exactly what students need to do with extracurriculars like science and debate to win the college admissions game.
Here’s what you must focus on:
1) Leadership in roles like student body president or class council representative. It’s hard to argue with accomplishments that are impressive across your entire school. Stanford will be impressed.
2) Involvement in the ECs where your high school is strong. Most College Admissions Committees know what each school is good at (for instance, Academic Decathlon) – participating in your high school’s best areas will help your admissions chances at Yale
3) Anything that leads to national or international honors and prizes – it’s so competitive these days that’s what you must do for the Ivy Leagues
As I write in Hopeless To Harvard, 50% of your success is what you do in high school. The other 50% is how you present it in the Common Application.
Describing the results and effect of your leadership and extracurricular activities. Don’t just talk about the steps you took and the process – talk about why it was important to you and what the positive impact for your school was
Follow the above steps, and you’ll be opening an admissions packet from Harvard in less than a year!
Animals at a Nature Camp
Summer Camp with Animals Kids find out about animals at summer camp, if you choose a camp that includes animals in the programs they offer. Science camps offer sophisticated learning programs, but there are summer camps that include animals as a part of more playful programs.
Connecting with animals in a natural setting can put a child at the beginning of a lifelong sense of relationship with nature. A deep respect for nature as an adult often starts with experience as a camper.
At Swift Nature Camp, also known as Animal Camp, has a unique pond aquarium gives kids a chance to see pond life from a frog\’s point of view, while our Nature\’s Neighbors live animal collection provides opportunities for up-close study and care of several common Northwoods residents as well as a few exotic immigrants. Campers with their own small animals are encouraged to bring them to camp to share with others. The animals live in the Nature Center, where all campers can enjoy and learn about them.
Working in conjunction with the Wisconsin DNR and the U.S. Park Service, Swift Nature Camp has also developed a hands-on environmental learning program which includes field trips, such as visits to a fish hatchery and state parks; hands-on field projects, like goose banding and butterfly counts; and exciting camp presentations, including visits with live owls.
Swift Nature Camp has a voluntary four-level program that rewards campers with a special patch of merit, and the categories include recognition of special skills with animals in categories like insects, pet care, bird watching, and horseback riding. Campers can choose just the right mix of play and learning to suit individual preference and need.
The summer camp you choose should facilitate a blend of play and challenge that is free of the stress of the school environment. The presence of animals in a natural environment can open the door to discovery, adding depth to the fun of going to a traditional summer camp.
Every camper is an individual and benefits from his or her own particular mix of play and skill development. Swift Nature Camp has found a way to accomodate that range with a voluntary merit program that includes experience with animals. A camper\’s interaction with animals can be refined into skills involving horseback riding, insects, pet care and bird watching. These opportunities never come at the expense of fun!
Discovering nature and the world we live in. Living in a natural environment Like camp is a perfect way for kids to play and grow. When children play with animals rather than just receiving information, they learn. Camp is more about fun and has far less stressful than school.

What to do over summer for Harvard admissions Summer jobs to get into Princeton and Stanford
Don’t overlook how important each summer can be to your chances of going to a dream college.
Most students flip burgers and work at Gap, but the best students – the ones who get into Harvard and Stanford – fill their summers with extracurricular activities, impressive jobs, and international travel.
Here’s what you need to know about spending summers to impress admissions offices:
1) Don’t sit on your butt watching TV – this is the bare minimum
2) Travel if you can, ideally to international places. This is good personally and for admissions committees. It opens your eyes, and will give you lots to talk about in your college admissions essays
3) Do volunteer work in foreign countries. This is not easy as a high school student, but get your parents involved if necessary to make this happen. Look for fellowship and scholarship programs that focus on high school students
4) Avoid hourly wage jobs like flipping burgers. If money is important, do what you must. But if money isn’t important, focus instead on interesting jobs that build on your passions. As I discuss in my article on the biggest secret to get into Harvard, it all builds up to telling a great story. So think about what your passions are and go explore them!
5) Make the summer before senior year count! This is your last chance to impress admissions committees
Follow the 5 key steps above and you’ll be that much closer to getting into Yale!

The Importance of Good Quality Teachers
It is important to check the teachers of any dance school you want your child to attend. Good teachers aren’t rare but they do have a habit of banding together at the same schools. There are a few tell tale indicators of a good school.
The dance teacher should be able to have a good rapport with their students. Good rapport means that the children in the class feel comfortable with their teacher and know that they can trust the teacher to have their best interests at heart when they need to be firm.
Dance teachers should be professional and experienced at teaching young students. Teaching young pupils is quite a challenge and not as easy as it seems. This can create problems as many instructors expect too much of their young students and don’t know how to set appropriate tests and lessons for them. The ideal situation is a teacher who solely deals with a certain age group and has numerous years experience combined with official credentials in dance and teaching.
They need to be creative and know how to blend fun with learning. A creative teacher will be able to devise a curriculum that does this. This requires an imaginative mind set and the teacher needs to be flexible. Some school curriculums will lean too much on the play side others too much on the learning side. A good teacher will be able to adapt a school curriculum to suit their pupil’s needs.
Professional teachers know how to source out each young pupil’s true potential and bring their talent to the fore. Each student will have something special to contribute to the class and a good quality teacher who is used to teaching young pupils will understand this. A good teacher will help their pupils develop and learn more.
Take the opportunity to observe the classes in action. This will demonstrate to you how the teacher gets on with the pupils and you will see how they conduct the class and the standard of dancing they bring out in the students. If you can’t take a full afternoon to do this, try dropping in a half hour early or staying back a half hour to catch some of the lesson time.
Remember to check out the teachers before you enroll your child, too. There’s nothing intrusive about doing this and many people have done it before you. You might also like to consider meeting the teacher who will be instructing your child. Perhaps the teacher is used to this and will suggest you stop by for a coffee one day and a chat. Good quality teachers understand that parents can have questions and concerns, you wouldn’t be a good parent unless you did.
Benefits of Camp
Children are provided the choice to take risks and try new things at summer camp. Being voluntary helps children be open to new experiences. Camp offers opportunities to try new things and excel in. The non-athlete can shine at arts and crafts, woodworking, or dramatic programs, while the athlete can also find many outlets for their skills. Most importantly, campers learn to live together and become friends despite their differences.Summer Camps
Practicing both new and old skills on a regular basis, you will see improvement. Novices have chances to learn, while those who are more experienced can improve. Self Esteem is the result of increased skills.. Children become more independent and self-reliant at camp with their newfound skills.
Sending your child to camp is giving them an opportunity to try something new. No matter how many after-school programs or lessons a child takes, its likely they will never have the opportunity to try all that is offered at summer camp. In a supportive environment, the child can try at something new. The interesting twist to these activities is that, since campers often don’t know anyone else at camp before they go, they are more willing to try activities that their friends at home might not expect them to. The athlete can try out for the camp play, while the artist may dabble in sports. At camp, children can try new things and set their own goals for success.
Though years later, your child may not remember capture the flag games or the words to a camp song, the life lessons learned at camp will remain. At camp, a child learns how to take responsibility. The child who has never before made a bed, will learn how to smooth out sheets and blankets and tidy up a cubby. Though counselors will remind and encourage, campers quickly take responsibility for personal hygiene, and for more minor health issues, a camper learns to articulate what hurts and how to get help. All of this personal responsibility further fosters a sense of independence and self-esteem. Camp also improves a child’s social skills by making new friends and learning how to reach out to strangers. At camp, children learn to get along with others, all while living together 24 hours a day, learning about courtesy, compromise, teamwork, and respect.Minnesota Camps

Become a Fashion Designer With Dress Up Games
In general, girls love fashion more than boys. Some of them want to become fashion designers when they grow up. There are even some that are too young to know what a fashion designer is, but they love dressing up with moms clothes and combining them in several ways in order to come up with the prettiest outfit for their tea party with their stuffed animals. There is a tool thats very easy and cheap to get access to for those girls who want to hone their skills.
Fashion on Internet
Thanks to the world wide reach of the Internet, now girls can get access to tons of styles, clothing and accessories from all over the world, even from cultures that are very different from theirs.
What is needed? There are only two things you need, a computer and Internet access. If your reading this article, chances are you have them already. If you have a child in your house, Im almost sure you have them already.
Dressing Up a Virtual Doll
There are literally thousands of dress up games at the reach of a few clicks. With only the imagination as a limit, programmers and designers have created dress up games that feature almost every celebrity and character that there is, and even groups of girls. From the Powerpuff girls to the Bratz dolls, and from the RBD pop girls to the cast of High School Musical, girls can play fashion designer with their favorite character, singer, actress or celebrity. There are, of course, generic nameless dolls dress up games, which are more suited for fashion only gaming.
Gameplay
Dress up games are very similar to old fashioned paper dolls, except with a far wider range of clothing. Girls select from a range of different pieces of clothing and accessories for a virtual doll to wear. Girls have fun by making the doll look pretty, stylish, elegant, cute, funny or whatever other idea they might come up with.
One of the most interest aspects of playing dress up games created from places all over the world is that girls are exposed to styles from different cultures. They will be dressing their dolls with Japanese kimonos, Indian Saris, Mexican sombreros, French bonnets, etc. You can even mix several elements from all over the world in order to make the perfect international look.
Building Up a Portfolio
Its a good idea to save your or your girls creations on your computer for later reference. There are several advantages, for example, re-creating a look or style in real life, or printing it in order to decorate a room. You can also use one that you really liked or enjoyed as a screen background on your computer. Over time, a portfolio will let you show others your work, or give you a base to develop styles of your own. Of course, you can also post a printed version of your girls work on the fridge, or another special place, to show her how proud you are of her creativity.
Gifts for Expecting Mothers
Have a friend or a family member who is expecting a baby? Don’t know exactly what to get for them? Here are three potential ideas as well as the pros and cons of each gift.
Pacifiers – Pacifiers are an excellent gift and they can be fun too. This is the type of gift where your friend won’t initially be enthralled, but later she’ll be thanking you.
Baby Clothing – Receiving baby clothes for an expecting mother is the closest thing to heaven on earth. As an added bonus, you’ll probably enjoy shopping for the gift just as much as the mother will enjoy receiving it.
Baby Clothes – This gift is probably the most fun gift to give. Not only do you get to go shopping, but what mother doesn’t love getting baby clothes. If you are looking for a good time and you want to play it safe, than baby clothes is an excellent option.
Baby clothes can sometimes be expensive, so for a cheap alternative try baby onesies. Onesies are like a large shirt that wraps around the baby’s body and snaps at the bottom. These outfits come with a variety of colors and sayings.
One of my personal favorites about baby onesies is the snaps on the bottom of them. Nobody likes changing diapers, but it is even harder to change diapers if you have to take off the baby’s pants every time he/she needs changed. You can simply unsnap the bottom and you’ll have instant access to the diaper.
Dressing up your baby for special occasions can be extremely fun. In those occasions I would necessarily recommend a baby onesie. However, for those times when your baby is lounging around at home, baby onesies are extremely comfortable. In addition, they can ruined and it isn’t the end of the world.
Buying gifts for expecting mothers can be difficult; especially when you have time or money constraints. Hopefully this article has given you some ideas about what you might potentially purchase for your upcoming baby event.
